The Cat Who Sang for the Birds by Lilian Jackson Braun (HC, 1998)
Content Description: Spring has arrived. Qwill is awakened each morning to a chorus of trills, chirrups, whistle, warbles, and twitters that has the cats screeching to join in. Recent troubles include a spray-painted barn; theft of sketches from the new Art Center; blood on the floor near a parrot cage that indicates that the thief did not escape unharmed; a fire erupts on the Coggin farm killing Widow Coggin; a young artist disappears; and an anti-computer uprising at the town library. Qwill, Koko and Yum Yum have to figure out what is happening to the town.
