Zack and the Magic Factory by Elaine L Schulte (PB, 1980)
Content Description: According to the Seattle Times, "Young Zack is sent to spend six weeks with his elderly Aunt Daisy, who lives in a strange, old building in a rundown part of the city. The structure, known as the magic factory, had been the place where the aunt's family had created illusions for sale to magicians. Disclosure of their trade secrets was still threatened and Zack soon became aware of an attempt to force entry into the building. He returned one afternoon to find the street door open and his aunt a captive of would-be-thieves. How Zack got both of them out of the predicament furnishes an exciting chapter."
